| Requirements and Responsibilities For Biopharma Process Development Manager |
| Manages a team of scientists who design and develop processes for the manufacturing of experimental and active drugs. Oversees the physical, chemical, and instrumental analysis of pharmaceutical ingredients to ensure efficiency and safety. Reviews findings and ensures adherence to formulary specifications. Analyzes and interprets results and makes recommendations for process improvement. Leads more complex projects. Stays current on emerging technologies and trends within the biopharma industry. May require a master's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
